As a follow-up to the participatory foresight workshop “Innovation 2040” in which Anastasia Akritidou participated in December 2024, the Region of Central Macedonia published the study “Innovation Environment 2040.” The study presents the megatrends, uncertainties and possible scenarios that will shape the region’s innovation ecosystem over the next 15 years. From climate change and digital transformation to geopolitical instability, it identifies seven strategic directions for a more competitive and innovation-friendly Central Macedonia. Scenarios such as Bullfrog, Octopus and Pupa sketch different development paths with a common goal: a region more welcoming to talent and more attractive to investment.
